DVJC St. Peter’s Inn Brunch and Mascaro Tour

BrianC · Jul 17, 2025 ·

On a mild and partially overcast morning on Sunday July 13, about 30 DVJC Members, spouses and guests assembled in the parking lot of the St Perter’s Inn for an informal Cars and Coffee car show that spanned two parking areas in the scenic and historic village of St Peters in nearby Warwick Township in northwester Chester County.  Everyone enjoyed seeing our member’s Jaguars resplendent in the dappled sunshine of the morning along with local car enthusiasts’ eclectic assembly of many project cars in various stages of completion.  Many of the local, young enthusiasts are serious deveotees of front wheel drive, Asian cars and modify them to remarkable and extreme levels of performance.  Cars in the show ranged from a barn-find, authentic and running 1929 Ford Model A to an extreme 2019 XE SVO Jaguar Project 8 and everything in between.
From the car show, we were seated on a private but covered deck overlooking the rapids of the upper French Creek leaving many in awe of the scene that looks more like it should be in the Rocky Mountains than in Pennsylvania.  We were treated to a wide choice of bunch entries selected forth Inn’s extensive menu.  A hearty brunch indeed with many choosing a Brunch entry called “English Breakfast”.  We also enjoyed a selection of locally baked pastries from Far Away Farms as an appetizer and desert along with excellent coffee during the event.
From the St. Peters’s Village, our group drove a short distance along scenic and winding Chester County roads north to Birdsboro enjoying the brilliant sunshine of the afternoon.  There we were treated to a several hour guided tour of the wonderful yet rarely visited Louis J. Mascaro Museum.  Our tour guide, Josh is a local volunteer whose breadth of knowledge was commensurate with the diversity of automobiles acquired and collected by the owner of the museum over his lifetime.  Josh provided a balanced description of the uniqueness of rarity of each vehicle.  Many of our group were able to meet a local restoration specialist, Tim Eckhart who is personally responsible for many of the restored examples of vintage vehicles in the owner’s collection. Mr. Mascaro has always had a special penchant for modern exotic cars of low production volumes and owns a remarkable collection of ultra-high performance cars and motorcycles that include Ferrari, Porsche, Maserati and domestic cars rarely if ever seen anywhere else.
The day was a treat for the eyes and pallet everyone enjoyed the day even under the threat of passing storms that never materialized.
Thanks to Aaron Phillips, Richard Kunin, and Bill Beible for the photos.
