DVJC Detailing with Tim

BrianC · Feb 8, 2026 ·

On February 7th, 2026, about 20 hearty DVJC members, new and old, braved the frigid and blustery cold weather to join an equal number of local car club members at the CarVault in Berwyn to learn more about the world of competitive detailing. A true master of his unique craft, Tim McNair, who owns and operates Grand Prix Concours, taught us about the extreme environment and unique challenges of competitive detailing. Tim shared his experience gained from over 40 years of master detailing (and “anti-detailing”) cars entered and judged at most of the prestigious concourses around the word. Although most of us do not have classic cars prepared to Pebble Beach or Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance standards, Tim explained the techniques and products he uses to achieve the extraordinary results needed to win. He was able to explain how these same products and techniques are equally effective on our special cars ranging from classic and restored examples used only for special occasions to newer classics used as daily drivers. Tim is a truly excellent and engaging speaker with huge repertoire of interesting stories collected over his extraordinary career working with the owners and restorations experts of these rare and often unique classic cars. He shared hours of photos of many of the cars he has detailed while he explained how to correct a number of common issues ranging in complexity from cleaning wire wheels to removing discoloration from chrome surfaces to how to achieve stellar results on old instruments without (more…)

DVJC Annual Holiday Party 2026

BrianC · Jan 19, 2026 ·

On a snowy and dreary Sunday, January 18th, 2026, seventy-seven members of the Delaware Valley Jaguar Club gathered at the William Penn Inn for the annual Holiday Party. Those who attended were treated to good food and great conversation. President Bill Beible addressed those in attendance with a state of the club report and Tony Tinari wowed as emcee. Congratulations to Noe LaFramboise for being awarded the Kurt Rappold Memorial President’s Award. Many thanks to Rich Rosen and his staff of volunteers for organizing a memorable event. DVJC Dinner and Concert

BrianC · Dec 8, 2025 ·

Thirty-two DVJC Members and Guests officially put the Holiday Season into full swing on Friday evening, December 6, 2025. We gathered at the Social Southern Scratch Kitchen and Bar in downtown West Chester among a cornucopia of holiday lights and decorations on every street corner and store front to sample the diverse menu of this landmark restaurant. Our group was joined by five special guests including several executives of the Brandywine Valley Symphony who perhaps wanted to better understand how our little group of British car enthusiasts became so interested in the Symphony, their many musical productions during the year and of course, their fund-raising activities such as the Classics at Brantwyn. The Brantwyn event Master of Ceremonies, David Ventura who is also on the Board of the Symphony and Ed Petrow our Concours Chairman, arranged to present the 2025 Best of Show award to our fellow member Alex Cole for his amazing and very rare 1938 Jaguar SS. Bill Beible took a moment to convey his personal best wishes for a joyous and safe Holiday Season. Our dinner was a fun start to the evening and despite the ample quantities of delicious food with a unique flavor of Southern Cuisine, it was soon time to leave for our next evening’s event. A short walk around the corner of the restaurant took us to the History Center, a recently remodeled historic building that previously housed the Historical Society of Chester County and is now part of the Smithsonian collections of (more…)

DVJC Steam, Limousines and Dinner, November 2, 2025

BrianC · Nov 4, 2025 ·

On what many would consider to be a perfect fall day, two-dozen members (and soon to be members!) gathered at the Marshall Steam Museum at Auburn Heights near Hockessin, DE for a step back in time. Israel and Elizabeth (Lizzie) Marshall built their Queen Anne–style mansion on a hilltop overlooking the Marshall Brothers Paper Mill in 1897 and named it Auburn Heights. The garage-now-museum was built by T. Clarence Marshall in 1947 to house his growing collection of antique automobiles. Club members were treated to reserved parking and for the next several hours, lined up for tours of the mansion, rides on the 1/8th scale train circling the property and a variety of steam and electric vehicles. The museum offers visitors a glimpse of what life was like at the dawn of the automotive age. Following the stop at the Marshall Museum, the group caravanned to the Nemours Estate in Wilmington, DE. The Nemours Estate, named for the north-central French town of Nemours, was created by Alfred I. du Pont in 1909–10 as a gift for his second wife, Alicia. Due to time constraints, our tour was focused on the estate’s garage to view the cars on display, which include two Rolls-Royce limousines, two Cadillacs and a Buick used at their Florida estate. A tour of the mansion, which can take over 90 minutes, should be on everyone’s list to visit. To wrap up the day, twenty members settled in at The Naked Olive restaurant in Kennett Square, PA for (more…)
