The Philadelphia MG Club presented its 29th annual British car show, “Brits at the TileWorks” on Saturday, October 10, 2026  at the grounds of the Moravian Pottery and TileWorks Museum in Doylestown, PA.  Unlike last year’s rainy weather show at the same location, this year the sun shone brightly on a large and interesting gathering of examples of various British marques.  DVJC was well represented in the “Early Jaguar” (pre 1974) class, as well as in the “Modern Jaguar” class.  This informal, popular-vote show was a well attended event.  Thank you to our colleagues at the Philadelphia MG club for sponsoring a great late-season show!  Thanks to Tony Tinari for the photos. September 27, 2026 Summary of Event On the heels of a severe Nor’easter storm, five DVJC members meet in Pipersville, PA to begin our scenic destination drive ultimately arriving at the Angelico Winery in NJ for the scheduled Art, Craft and Car Show.  Among the five participants were three Jaguars although most left their vintage cars safely at home.  The nine DVJC members and one well-mannered, curly-coat retriever named Mabel, left on our planned route headed to the historic Van Sant Aerodrome.  With the damaging results of the waning severe storm during the preceding 48 hours, our route was blocked by many fallen tree limbs and debris plus a detached RV trailer that had sunk deeply into the mud about 200 feet off the road.  When we arrived on the scene, the trailer was just being pulled out of the mud by an exceptionally large and capable tow truck blocking the entire narrow country road.  How it got there, nobody knows but that was only the first of several ad hock detours thru picturesque, hilly route to the summit of the hills forming the runway of the airfield.  Clearly, nobody was flying but we looked around the historic site and covered vintage aircraft anyway.  After a quick stop, we resumed our  journey down the mountain towards the flooded Delaware River.  Crossing the narrow steel bridge at Frenchtown and watching the rushing water underneath the steel-grated bridge surface was exciting.  Everyone was glad to make it across without incident although maintaining (more…)

On an almost ideal Saturday morning, September 12, 2026, members and gusts of the Delaware Valley Jaguar Club gathered at Fort Washington State Park, Fort Washington, PA. Almost all members arrived in a Jaguar as it was a great day for a drive. The club provided coffee and donuts, the participants provided camaraderie and pleasant conversation. Festival of Flight 2026 Saturday August 8, 2026 A bright and sunny Saturday morning brought 12 DVJC members and guests to historic Hanks Place in Chadds Ford for a late breakfast or early lunch.  We crowded Hank’s parking lot with a dozen member Jaguars ranging in age from 1958 to 2020.  After admiring some the famous Wyeth prints on display inside the newly rebuilt restaurant, we enjoyed a hearty meal of cooked to order food that were mostly prepared in an open kitchen and grill much like the original Hanks.  Our delicious grilled entries were not quite as rich in butter as they were many years ago when prepared by Hank, a retired Navy cook who saw service during the war in the Pacific, and the new menu included numerous healthy options. After carefully watching the rapidly approaching thunderstorms on our phones, we decided to hasten our departure to the New Garden Air Field only about 20 miles away.  Losing a number of members who feared the show would be canceled due to the storms, six members and guests made it to the New Garden Air Show entrance exactly at the same time the dramatic thunderstorms appeared accompanied by torrential rain.  All of this unfortunate weather created some confusion about the Car Show location but eventually we got everything sorted out just as the weather cleared about 1 ½ hour later. By 3:30 PM, the runway was re-opened and flights resumed with the promise of blue sky’s and much cooler (more…)
