Join your DVJC friends for a safe, fun, timed drive around a slalom course that will demonstrate your driving skills.
Now’s the time to experience it with your own car – all makes, models and years are welcome!
1936 SS, F-Pace SVR or any of the other great Jags!
Volvo, Tesla, Chevy, Ford and everything else with four wheels and an engine!
Speeds rarely exceed 25 mph and most cars remain in second gear over the entire course.
Noe LaFramboise driving his 2007 XK coupe.

First time? No worries! There are plenty of experienced members on hand to provide coaching and advice. In fact, five
DVJC members won JCNA North American awards last year.
Hungry Spectator? Come watch the fun and enjoy lunch with participants and the other spectators.
Your Jaguar in the shop? No problem! Cars of any marque may compete. Recent entrants have included Tesla, Ford, Chevy and Volvo.
The first lap around the course follows an hourglass pattern. It is followed by a “Figure 8” lap after which the run concludes with an oval lap into the stopping area. The whole of the course is 170 feet long by 80 feet wide – so you do not need overnight accommodations. Typical times to complete a run are between 40 and 55 seconds. Although you will feel like you are blazing along at Mach1, peak speeds are usually less than 30mph.
Safety is the first consideration:
- The course is set up in a paved parking lot according to JCNA rules.
- All cars must pass a technical inspection before the event begins.
- Participants are required to wear helmets that meet rated Snell 95 or newer, i.e. SA or M rated are acceptable. For those who don’t own a helmet, DVJC will have helmet socks available to use a “loaner” helmet along with sanitation wipes for cleaning helmets between users.
The first and, possibly, most important part of the day is coffee and donuts! Then…..
Technical Inspection begins at 9:00 AM to insure that all critical safety features comply with JCNA requirements.
Competition begins immediately following completion of the technical inspection. Entrants take turns until they each complete five runs. The best time of the five is used as the final score for each driver. Competition is organized within sixteen different classes of Jaguars so similarly equipped and powered cars are competing with each other. For example, all XKs (1949 – 1961) are in one class, 1987 -2020 sedans are in a separate class and F-Types are in another. In addition to classes that include every year and model of Jaguar, there is a separate class for all non-Jaguar powered cars. JCNA member scores are posted on the JCNA website and compared with times from clubs across North America to determine annual standings.
Once the final results are determined, people pitch in to quickly dismantle the course and put away the equipment ….. and then head to the Crown Tavern for well deserved “refreshments and lunch.” (Not included in registration fee.)
