SUMMARY:Delaware Valley Jaguar Club 17th Annual Slalom
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\n\nDELAWARE VALLEY JAGUAR CLUB\n\n17th ANNUAL SLALOM-Res
 cheduled\nSaturday\, Sept. 24\, 2022\n9 AM to 1 PM\nGARNET VALLEY HIGH SCH
OOL\nHOME OF THE GARNET VALLEY JAGUARS\n552 Smithbridge Road\, Glen Mills\
 , PA 19342\nConcord Township\n&nbsp\;\nJaguar has a well-deserved reputati
on for prowess on the track.\nNow's the time to experience it with your ow
n car - 1936 SS\, F-Pace SVR or any of the other great Jags!\nJoin your DV
JC friends for a safe\, fun timed “drive” around a slalom course that
will challenge your driving skills and tease your short term memory.\nFirs
t time?  No worries!  There are plenty of experienced members on hand to
provide coaching and advice. In fact\, seven\nDVJC members won JCNA North
American awards last year.\n\nHungry Spectator? Come watch the fun and en
joy lunch with participants and the other spectators.\n\nYour Jaguar in th
e shop?  No problem! Cars of any marque can compete.  Recent entrants ha
ve included Tesla\, Ford and Volvo.\n\nThe first lap around the course fol
lows an hourglass pattern. It is followed by a “Figure 8” lap after wh
ich the run concludes with an oval lap into the stopping area.  The whole
of the course is 170 feet long by 80 feet wide – so you do not need ove
rnight accommodations.  Typical times to complete a run are between 40 an
d 55 seconds.  Although you will feel like you are blazing along at Mach1
\, peak speeds are usually less than 30mph.\n\nSafety is the first conside
ration:\n\n The course is set up in a paved parking lot according to JCNA
rules.\n All cars must pass a technical inspection before the event begi
ns.\n Participants are required to wear helmets that meet rated Snell 95
or newer\, i.e. SA or M rated are acceptable.  For those who don’t own
a helmet\, DVJC will have helmet socks available to use a “loaner” hel
met along with sanitation wipes for cleaning helmets between users.\n\n&nb
sp\;\nThe first and\, possibly\, most important part of the day is coffee
and donuts!  Then…..\nTechnical Inspection begins at 9:00 AM to insure
that all critical safety features comply with JCNA requirements.\n\nCompet
ition begins immediately following completion of the technical inspection.
Entrants take turns until they each complete five runs.  The best time
of the five is used as the final score for each driver.  Competition is
organized within sixteen different classes of Jaguars so similarly equippe
d and powered cars are competing with each other.  For example\, all XKs
 (1949 – 1961) are in one class\, 1987 -2020 sedans are in a separate cla
ss and F-Types are in another.  In addition to classes that include every
year and model of Jaguar\, there is a separate class for all non-Jaguar p
owered cars.  JCNA member scores are posted on the JCNA website and compa
red with times from clubs across North America to determine annual standin
gs.\n\nOnce the final results are determined\, people pitch in to quickly
dismantle the course and put away the equipment ….. and then head to McK
enzie’s Brew Pub for well deserved “refreshments and lunch.” (Not in
cluded in registration fee.)\n\n&nbsp\;\nPre-Register no later than Sept.

  Competitors - $30 total cost\n\n $10 registration\n Plus $20 event insu
rance coverage -Submit Non-Member Registration &amp\; Insurance Form with
